After two years of permitting and construction, the Smithtown-Long Island Tesla location has opened at 1000 Nesconset Highway in Nesconset, in the building that last housed Sixth Avenue Electronics.

Joseph Constantino of Medford, who’s been a Tesla customer experience manager for four years, says the move to open in Nesconset was “corporate-based, on the future of what Tesla will bring to Long Island and the Greater NYC area.”

And it’s located in the middle of the island, making it more convenient for Tesla consumers, he said.

“We are considered a ‘service plus’ location, which consists of sales, delivery, and service teams,” he noted.

There are two other Tesla locations on the island. Manhasset has a sales department, and Syosset’s is a service-only location.

The new Tesla spot covers three acres with a 40,000-square-foot showroom and service center.

The delivery aspect will be so that consumers have the opportunity to pick up their Tesla, no matter how they acquired it, at the Smithtown-Long Island location.

“We’re the largest stand-alone delivery center on the East Coast,” he said.

In the showroom, people can learn about the Tesla models and have a contact-free test drive to take the car out by themselves instead of having a sales rep with them.

“We go over specific functions, and they can take the car for 20 minutes or so.”

The hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
